This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Rivver Go website, mobile application, and WhatsApp chatbot (the "Service"). It applies to users across the Caribbean and beyond.
By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Contact details: Name and email address (e.g., when joining the waitlist or subscribing to our newsletter).
- Phone number / WhatsApp number: When you interact with us via the WhatsApp chatbot or register through the mobile app.
- Business WhatsApp account data: If you connect a business WhatsApp account to the Service.
- Chat messages: Messages you send through AI-powered chat features (WhatsApp chatbot or in-app chat). Please do not send sensitive personal information through these channels.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Location data: Approximate or precise device location, when you grant permission, to provide trip planning and route features.
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, session duration, device type, operating system, and browser type, collected via Google Analytics (website and potentially the mobile app).
- Log data: IP addresses, timestamps, and error reports collected by our servers for security and debugging purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service (trip planning, route suggestions, schedules).
- Respond to your messages and support requests.
- Send you product updates, newsletters, or waitlist notifications (you may opt out at any time).
- Analyse usage patterns to improve features and user experience.
- Process AI-assisted queries through our LLM providers (see Section 4).
- Ensure the security and integrity of the Service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices, including encryption at rest and in transit. We limit access to personal data to authorised personnel only. While we take reasonable precautions, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7).
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share data with third parties only as necessary to operate the Service:
- AI / LLM Providers – Anthropic & OpenAI: Chat messages and queries you submit to AI-powered features are processed by these providers. They may retain data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We encourage you not to submit sensitive personal information via chat. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy and OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
- Analytics – Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how the website and app are used. Google may collect and process usage data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- WhatsApp (Meta): Interactions via our WhatsApp chatbot are subject to WhatsApp's Privacy Policy.
- Infrastructure providers: Cloud hosting and infrastructure vendors who process data on our behalf under appropriate data processing agreements.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
5. Location Data
Location data is used solely to provide trip planning features (e.g., finding nearby stops and suggesting routes). We do not track your location in the background unless you have explicitly granted ongoing location permissions. You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings.
6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics (Google Analytics) and to remember your preferences. You may configure your browser to refuse cookies; however, some features of the Service may not function correctly as a result. We may update our analytics provider in future, and this Policy will be updated accordingly.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent).

8. International Transfers
Rivver Technologies Ltd. is based in Barbados and serves users across the Caribbean and internationally. Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, including by our LLM and analytics providers in the United States. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service does not impose an age restriction at this time. However, we do not knowingly collect personal data from children without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by email where possible. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
